The purpose of this book is not to provide the reader with another how-to book on relationships; there are plenty of other books offering that elixir. The purpose of this book is fourfold: 1. To provide you with a newfound appreciation for the wonders of an oft neglected and misinterpreted portion of Gods inerrant and infallible Word. 2. To equip you to comprehend the wisdom which the Song of Songs offers regarding various aspects of romantic love, marriage and human sexuality. 3. To help you begin to think about how this wisdom applies to your own context. 4. To assist you in seeing the glory and richness of divine love revealed in the person and work of Jesus Christ. This book is an effort to address the topics of human sexuality, romance and marriage from the Bible with deep theological reflection.
This book reads like a devotional. Its vulnerability drew me in, its practical nature inspired me, and its theology made me even more in awe of the marriage bond with my wife and grateful for the eternal bond with my Lord Jesus Christ. It also made me pick up the phone when I was reading a chapter to tell my wife how much I love her, and I couldn't wait to get home to smooch. And it moved me often to pray to Jesus, "Thank you!"
