About the Author
Douglas Bond teaches English at Covenant High School in Tacoma, Washington, and is a ruling elder in the Presbyterian Church in America. Bond lives with his wife, two daughters, and four sons in Washington state.
Hold Fast in a Broken World is a ramped-up call for young men to prepare for stalwart leadership in the family, church, and culture.
Doug Bond engages readers in a frank discussion of the cultural topics that a young man must biblically master if he is to be the winsome, servant leader of the rising generation. Covering topics from stem-cell research to abortion, feminism to gay marriage, multiculturalism to death art, Hold Fast will help fathers prepare their sons to live with courage and wisdom in a hostile world, to be strong men who live and die to the glory of God.
"Full of lively illustrations, wise warnings, and hard-hitting application for everyday life, Bond's latest book addresses all of the strong temptations and difficult trials that young men face today. Ideal for personal study or father-son discussion, Fathers and Sons is an invitation to pursue manly goldiness in the adventure of life." - Philip Graham Ryken, senior minister, Tenth Presbyterian Church
"Douglas Bond has written the book that many dads will wish their father had read with them, and that they will be so thankful to have for prayerful discussion with their own sons now...Fathers, get this book, sit down with your son, pray and get started. Your son will understand the engaging language and powerful illustrations; you will be thanking God for the help in talking about so many topics you know will benefit your son as he reaches for manhood. Very edifying; don't miss out on this!" - Paul Walker, pastor and hospital chaplain (retired), Vancouver, BC
"Douglas Bond doesn't write for the faint-hearted. This is for men who want the next generation—including their very own sons—to be more stalwart than they were themselves..." — Joel Belz, founder, World Magazine
