A commentary for children? One rarely sees the words "commentary" and "children" in the same sentence, let alone the same description. Commentaries pay careful attention to words. The origin of words (Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic); their context (historical setting, redaction criticism, textual criticism and genre); and, of course, the power and subtle meaning of the words themselves. Nancy Ganz is concerned with words, but she sets them before us in a way that all of us—even children—can understand.
